Jeva Server agreement
Draft — awaiting legal review (DECISION-029). This agreement is a draft that a lawyer reviews before sale. The Dutch text is binding; the Arabic, English and German texts are translations. Version 2026-10-19.
Summary (read this first)
- Jeva Server is not a security or alarm system. It is an interface that connects your devices, for convenience.
- JEVA is not liable for theft, burglary, fire, damage or recordings — whether or not a recording was made.
- If the server stops, all your devices keep working in their own apps. Only the connections, the automations and the interface stop.
- Your data stays in your home: passwords, accounts, family and guests are on your own server. JEVA keeps no names, email addresses, passwords or images.
- Notifications are best effort: they can arrive late or not at all. For important alerts, rely on the manufacturer's app.
- Remote maintenance only with your button, for at most 24 hours, and every sign-in is logged on your server.
1. Parties and terms
- JEVA: JEVA Techniek, Wittem 3, 7603 NE Almelo, KvK 99865351.
- You: the customer who takes Jeva Server and gives this acceptance.
- Your server: the computer with Home Assistant in your home.
- Jeva Server: the service described in article 2.
- Activation code: the code JEVA gives you to open the service on your devices.
2. What the service is
Jeva Server connects the devices you already have and shows them in one interface on the JEVA website. Each device stays registered and managed in the manufacturer's own app (for example eufy, Aqara, Tuya, Somfy TaHoma, Google Home, Resideo). Settings, updates, recordings, storage and the cloud stay with the manufacturer.
The service consists of:
- the connecting software on your server (Home Assistant with JEVA's extension);
- the interface, which you open via jevatechniek.com;
- an encrypted passage (relay) on JEVA's server. It passes the traffic on without decrypting it and without storing it.
What the service is not: not a security, alarm or monitoring-centre system; no recording or storage of camera images; no management of your devices, their apps or their cloud.
3. What JEVA is responsible for
JEVA is responsible for:
- the connecting server (Jeva Server);
- the website;
- the interface (the display).
Nothing more.
4. What JEVA is not responsible for
JEVA is not responsible for:
- the devices themselves, their apps, their cloud and their updates;
- recordings — made or not made — and their loss;
- theft, burglary, fire, damage and any other event in or around the home;
- outages of the internet, electricity or the manufacturers' services;
- notifications that arrive late or not at all;
- what the people you add yourself do.
5. If the server stops
Your devices keep working in their own apps, as before. Only the connections between the devices, the automations and the interface stop until the server works again.
6. Extra connecting part (for example a Zigbee stick)
At the moment no extra connecting part belongs to the service. If one is added later: a device connected directly to that part can no longer be controlled remotely or automatically when the server stops (the switch on the wall keeps working). Such a device is only connected with your consent per device and is marked in the interface and in this agreement as "depends on the server". Devices needed to keep the home working are never connected to it.
7. What you are responsible for
- your server, the power and the internet connection;
- your passwords, PINs and the activation code;
- the people you add and the permissions you give them;
- informing people about cameras indoors (GDPR).
8. Your data
- Passwords, accounts, details of family and guests, preferences and the log are only on your server.
- Live camera images pass encrypted through the relay and are stored nowhere.
- Technically, JEVA only keeps what the privacy policy lists under "Jeva Server". See also the data processing agreement.
9. Remote maintenance
Only when you use the button "Allow online maintenance" in the interface. It applies for at most 24 hours and then stops by itself. Every sign-in is logged on your server and you get a notification. Maintenance covers only the connections (an integration that dropped, automations, the interface). Problems with the device itself, its app or its cloud belong to the manufacturer.
10. Availability
JEVA does its best but does not guarantee 100% availability of the relay, the website or the notifications.
11. Prices, term and cancellation
- The prices are those of the current Jeva Server price list on jevatechniek.com at the moment you give your agreement, including VAT. That price list is also in your PDF copy.
- After the first year you can cancel monthly.
- If payments are overdue, JEVA can stop the passage (relay). Your devices then keep working in their own apps.
12. Liability
- JEVA's liability is limited to the amount you paid for Jeva Server in the twelve months before the event, except in case of intent or deliberate recklessness by JEVA.
- This article does not limit any rights you have as a consumer by law.
13. Acceptance, your copy and changes
- You accept by ticking the box "I have read and agree" and tapping OK. Without that acceptance the service is not activated.
- You get your copy as a PDF straight away. You also find it later in the interface under ⋯ → Agreement.
- A new version of this agreement asks for your acceptance again.
14. Applicable law
Dutch law applies to this agreement.
